My Pillow Pets: Friendly Frog

My Pillow Pets is a company that is less than ten years old, and while it might have started out with a cute (and trademarked) name, since 2003, the company has expanded to bring smiles to tens of thousands of young children.  All of this started in an unlikely way, which I suppose is the way many great toy stories begin: with a San Diego-based mother who was tired of picking up stuffed animals that were strewn around the room all of the time.  The idea came to somehow make the toys functional for the children as well as fun, and that initial idea for the My Pillow Pets line was born.  There were only six starting out, but there are many more now and the Friendly Frog Pillow Pet has definitely made an impact with its bright green color and giant smile.

The Friendly Frog Pillow Pets are a favorite among many kids, and it's not hard to see why. These plush toys come in both 11 inch and 18 inch models, and are made from a super soft chenille plush which makes these great as both soft stuffed animals and also as very high quality pillows for nap time (or even just sleeping at night). The big white eyes definitely help, and if you have small boys who love playing with frogs and snakes, this stuffed animal could be a good way to discourage them from bringing the real thing into the house since their favorite stuffed animal could be that My Pillow Pet frog. These toys are washable, although they should be air dried on a clothes line and never thrown into a dryer.

The Friendly Frog My Pillow Friend is so popular that it can also be ordered in the form of backpacks, blankets, and slippers.  For the kids who completely love frogs or have a Wind in the Willows theme going along, these can be the perfect addition to a collection.  They are made of the same soft fabrics, and are designed to be both functional and fun.  While they may not be for everyone, there many children who would love a My Pillow Pal frog blanket or backpack, and so for some kids these could be the perfect high quality gift.
