67Crash Diets Guide
A crash diet is often a technique used by people who really want to get rid of weight fast. They might have some sort of important event coming up, such as a wedding or a party, and they feel the only way they can get rid of the weight is by using a crash diet. Crash dieting is not a technique that comes highly recommended, and that is for a number of reasons. Often, crash dieting is just a temporary way to remove a couple of pounds, but when you start eating again you gain all of that weight back. Crash dieting has also been know to leave you feeling tired and worn out. This is why having a diet that works for you, and sticking to that diet over time is always the best option. However, if that is not an option you can do right now, here is some important information on crash diets.
Different Crash Diet Techniques
There are many different crash diet techniques. Some people claim that this is a great way to loose a few pounds in a quick manner. I will not personally endorse any of these methods, but I did want to list some of the them for you, so you have information about crash diets. Like always, I recommend a healthy diet that is based on eating good foods and getting plenty of exercise. Over time, this technique will give you the best results and lead to a healthier lifestyle.
Low Carb. Diet
A low carbohydrate diet is a way to loose weight initially. In fact, low carbohydrate diets have become a major fad when it comes to American dieting plans. The low carbohydrate diet does exactly what it sounds like, eliminating or extremely cutting back in the daily carbohydrate intake. You than replace the carbohydrates with more proteins, and many people recommend seafood. This will give your body energy, but eliminate carbohydrate weight.
The low carbohydrate diet normally does a nice job eliminating water weight. But you often gain back most of the weight as soon as you start eating carbohydrates again. This is a good diet to temporally take off a few pounds, but is not really an excellent long-term diet.
Liquid or Body Cleansing Diet
Many people will recommend going to a liquid diet. The liquids are suppose to help clean out the system, and remove the toxins from the body. This diet cuts back on solid foods, increases liquids, and cuts back on calories. This is not a long term diet, but is normally something people will do before starting another type of diet. Some people swear that removing the toxins from the body is a great way to feel better, and prepare for a different type of diet. Always be careful when greatly lowering the calorie intake and do some research ahead of time to see if these are right for you or not.

Low Calorie Diets
The
most common thought that comes to mind when you think about crash
diets is just cutting back on the calories. This crash diet is not
one I would recommend. You will see initial weight loss by cutting
back in calories, but you will probably be left hungry and worn down
from the lack of energy. Low calorie diets are only successful if used for a short time period.
Your body will also eventually adjust to the lack of calories and change the amount of calories your body burns in a day naturally. The body will also store fat, seeing it as something it needs to keep around for energy purposes. This is certainly not a long term solution.
Eating A Certain Food Diet
A crash diet form that is becoming very popular is eating a lot of a certain type of food. For example, the grapefruit diet which requires eating a lot of grapefruit is very popular. People do loose weight off of this because the body takes longer to digest and break down grapefruit, and it is a healthy food with a lower amount of calories.
Other popular diets include eating things like cabbage and celery. All of these diets need to be investigated before you take part in them. Make sure you feel good if you partake in one, and always monitor your health during the diet.
Important Notes on Crash Diets
The way crash diets can possibly work is that you loose weight over a short period of time, than maintain that weight loss. A crash diet is not a long term solution, just like the name implies, you do it over a short term. Long term health problems can occur if you do not do a crash diet properly, and you do it for a long period of time.
Changing your lifestyle during a crash diet is a great way to maintain the results at the end. Eliminate things like fast food, and work on exercising more, and it may be possible to keep the results after the crash diet. If you do a crash diet, and follow that up with returning to old eating habits, there is a good chance you will loose the benefits that the diet had on you.

Conclusion
I still believe, and many people will agree, that the best way to become healthy and loose weight is not on a crash diet, but over a long period of time taking care of yourself. However, for some people that is not always an option, and crash dieting does have a place if you do it properly. Making sure you find the right diet for you will be important. Sticking to it will also be important, because a crash diet is going to leave you hungry, and maybe even exhausted. You should always think about consulting your doctor before starting any diet, or making any major changes to your lifestyle. Your doctor may even be able to give you great tips on how to achieve your dieting goals.
