Best or Strongest Alcoholic Drinks

Strong Mixed Drink Introduction

Thanks to my college years, my friends always considered me there go to guy when they needed a Strong Mixed Drink.  Through my experiences there have been a few mixed drinks that really stand out, not only on taste, but really pack a punch.  Often enough however, the key to a good alcoholic cocktail is the one and only bartender, I hope when you are at a bar, you get a great bartender who makes sure to put a little extra kick into your drink instead of adding way too much cola or juice.  Either way, I thought I would give you a list of my favorites, and hope that you either make these drinks yourself, or have a great bartender on your adventures with drinking.  So let me toss together another strong drink and let's get cracking on this!

Strong Alcoholic Cocktails: The Basics

There are a few simple mixed drinks that really taste good, and pack a nice punch. There are so many different combinations of these recipes I am not going to spend too much time on those details, but here are my top 3 favorite strong alcoholic drinks, which I'll go back to over and over again.

#1 Rum or Whiskey with Coke

This is another recipe that can be made with any number of whiskeys or rums. You can even switch coke out with Dr. Pepper or some other soda. The reason I have this at number one is just because the carbonation from the soda will get you drunk faster than juice...at least according to that one alcohol education class I had to take in college after drinking too much beer. Changed my life forever :) There's even a low calorie cocktail version of the whiskey and coke or rum and coke.

#2 Gin and Juice

The classic Snoop Dog Drink. Gin and Juice can be made with many different combinations of Gin and different types of juice. Personally, I am a big fan of about 2 shots of Gin to 3 oz. of orange juice and 2 oz. of grapefruit juice.

#3 Screwdriver

Screwdrivers are just the basic mixture of orange juice and vodka. When partying, we often mix to your preferred taste and keep on partying. The regular recipe is normally just 1-1/2 to 2 shots of vodka with 6 oz. of orange juice.

Shot forms of Mixed Drinks (Mixed Shots)

Some drinks are tasty, but have to been taken in a shot form, or drank really quickly.  Here are my favorite ones.

#1 Liquid Cocaine

There is a lot of confusion about Liquid Cocaine, with a lot of different recipes out there.

The one I was introduced to, and enjoy the most is: 1/2 oz Bacardi 151 rum, 1/2 oz Goldschlager cinnamon schnapps, and 1/2 oz Jagermeister.  Make it in a big shot glass and enjoy.

#2 Irish Car Bomb

The Irish Car bomb is a personal favorite and the drink that messes up brother the most.

Some recipes call for 1/2 a shot of bailey’s, and 1/2 shot of whiskey mixed with a bottle of Guinness.  I always make it was a shot of bailey’s and a shot of whiskey (make it Irish whiskey, I mean it is an Irish Car Bomb).  The directions are simple, poor the Guinness into a glass, top it off with the shot of whiskey, than drop the shot of bailey’s into the cup.  Drink it fast or it will curdle.

#3 Dead Nazi

This is a simple but tasty shot.  2/3 oz of Jagermeister mixed with 2/3 oz of the strongest peppermint schnapps you got.

#4  Four Horseman

A tasty drink with some different variations, the one I make includes: 3/4 oz tequila, 3/4 oz Jagermeister, 3/4 oz peppermint liqueur (stronger the better), 3/4 oz Bacardi 151 rum.  Mix all of those ingredients together and enjoy.

Shot I hate the Most: 3 Wiseman

I just cannot stand this drink anymore.  It must be a sign I'm getting too old.  Recipe: 2/3 oz Jack Daniel's, 2/3 oz Jim Beam 2/3 oz Jose Cuervo.  Mix together and drink...good luck.

The Strongest Alcoholic Drinks: Strong Mixed Drinks of Honor

These are my top five mixed drinks I just like to relax on.  They pack a punch, but they taste great and there is no need to drink them fast.

#1 Long Island Ice Tea

No drink has ever tasted so good, but done some much damage in my opinion.  A good Long Island packs one heck of a punch, but you think you could drink them all day.

Some places make Long Island Ice Tea a little different, but the most common way is 1 shot of Vodka, 1 shot of Gin, 1 shot of spiced rum, a shot of tequila and a shot of triple sec.  Add a lime and some cola for color.

#2 Mai Tai

A properly made Mai Tai is just a fantastic drink.

1 oz light rum should be mixed with 1/2 oz crème de almond, and 1/2 oz triple sec in order.  To look fancy you would put this drink into a Collins glass.  Add equal parts of sweet and sour mix and pineapple juice until you almost reach the top of the glass.  Add the 1/2 oz of dark rum to the top.  Add a straw and DO NOT STIR.

#3 Mojito

Ok, so this is a little weaker of a drink, and tougher to make.  However, I still haven't found many drinks that taste better, and are as refreshing as this one.

The standard recipe for a mojito calls for 2 oz. of spiced rum, some fresh mint leaves, about 1 tbsp of sugar, 1/2 an oz of lime juice, and 2 oz of soda water.  You place your mint leaves in the bottom of the glass.  Add crushed ice, the rum, sugar, lime juice.  You should muddle all of that together.  Add the soda water and garnish with more mint leaves if you please.

Extra Notes:  I never make my mojito's with spiced rum. I much prefer white Puerto Rican rum like Bacardi.

#4 White Russian

This is a classic mixed drink, which is perfect for socializing and hanging out with friends.  My personal recipe is a little different than the standard recipe so I will give both.

Standard Recipe: About 2/3 oz of Kahlua with 1 and 2/3 oz of vodka.  Use a smaller glass and add about 1 oz of cream, half and half, or milk.

My recipe:  I like to add one shot of Kahlua to 2 shots of vodka.  Than top off with half and half.  I think the easiest way to ruin a white Russian is too much Kahlua.

#5 Kamikaze

Anytime I want to feel high class, the Kamikaze is the perfect drink.  The Kamikaze should be made in a martini glass.

Mix 1 oz. Vodka, with 1 oz. Triple Sec, and 1 oz. of lime juice in a shaker.  Strain into martini glass and enjoy the perfect high class drink.

Alcoholic Cocktail Honorable Mentions

Honorable Mention

Hey some people have mixed drinks to get messed up. Not judging either way, because there are plenty of times that would make me the pot calling the kettle black. If you are looking for the strongest drink you can find for that reason, I recommend trying an "Adios Mother F###er." It packs the punch you would be looking for. Also consider taking a look on this hubpage about the strongest alcoholic drinks - one of the best I've seen on here.

A drink of note:

I am not sure if this drink has a name, but it got my college roommate married when I made it for him and his then future wife. Take a 12 oz glass and fill it with ice. Add vodka to about half way. Take three or four different types of puckers and mix them to the top, filling them with whatever flavors you enjoy to take away the bite and add a fruity flavor. Stir and serve and see if it works for you. Certainly did for them :)

Comments on Strong Alcoholic Drinks?

I wonder if the names of the three wisemen really were Jim, Jack, and Jose, LOL. Yeah, not my kind of drink, either. Great page on strong mixed drinks of all types. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.

Truth Exposed Pub 2 years ago

Really impressive and detailed job on outlining all your favorite mixed drinks. It's nice to get some reading on top of the normal cut and dry recipes.

Thanks for the comments guys. And Master Dayton, if the three wisemen really were Jim, Jack, and Jose, I bet they wish they had a better drink named after them.
