A Guide to Cosmetic Surgery Prices

Introduction to Cosmetic Surgery Prices:

The biggest question people ask when preparing for cosmetic surgery is how much does it cost.  Cosmetic surgery prices are going to vary slightly by doctor, by operation, and by the amount of work required on a person, but overall, the price ranges for cosmetic surgery are pretty clear.  While it is always important to see what the price of cosmetic surgery is going to be before deciding on getting an operation, do remember that there should be many other factors that affect your decision before it is made.  Cosmetic surgery is not completely risk free, and does have some inherent risks, so make sure you discuss all options with your doctor before making a decision on cosmetic surgery.  With that taken care of, I just wanted to provide a basic list of cosmetic surgery prices.  Remember that there is going to be some variance in prices, but this list should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Words of Warning about Prices

When dealing with cosmetic surgery, there are some things that can increase your bill by potentially thousands of dollars.  One such thing is location.  Is your doctor going to be able to do the procedure at his office, or are they going to have to take you to the hospital?  Location can cost extra money.

Many of the procedures need to be done with anesthesia.  So when asking about the price, is that included?  Depending on the procedure, and the need for local anesthesia, or the need to be completely knocked out, that can easily add a thousand dollars or more to your bill.  You have to make sure that is listed on your potential costs to not be shocked by your bill once the procedure is complete.

Equipment could also cost you a little more money.  Depending on the equipment that needs to be used, costs could increase.  This also ties into where the operation takes place, if you need to go to the hospital and use their equipment, costs increase.

The one thing you should not do when having cosmetic surgery, is make cuts to lower the price.  If cosmetic surgery prices are too expensive for you right now, than go save more money.  The worst thing you can possible do is be cheap, have a cheap surgery, and unfortunately, get a very cheap look in return.

Smart Ways to Save Money

There are a few options that can save money, but not risk the quality of your cosmetic surgery.  One such way is by being able to pay cash right away after the operation.  If you are able to fully pay for the operation, and do it in cash, the doctor may be willing to give you a discount as high as 20%.  This occurs regularly with any doctor that has been burned by patients in the past.

This is a way that I do not want to give my full blessings to, but has been popular with other people.  Traveling to a different country can be an option, and can save money.  Some countries are trying to become popular places for Americans to go to get cosmetic surgery.  If you even consider this option, you must do tons and tons of research.  Check on the doctor's history, see what protection the country offers in case something goes wrong, and make sure the doctor has a long line of happy patients from the past.

Cosmetic Surgery Prices

Like I said before, there are going to be some variances in prices, but here is a ballpark figure on what a lot of different cosmetic surgeries cost. REMEMBER this does not include the anesthesia costs, in the case of breast implants, the actual cost of the implants, or any medical stay bills. These prices are referring to jus the surgery.

Breast Implants: The price for a good breast implant procedure is going to be above the $4,000 mark.

Breast Reduction Surgery: The price of breast reduction surgery is going to be more expensive than breast implants, probably around the $5,500 mark.

Face lift: A face lift procedure, depending on what is being done, is going to be in the $6,000 range.

Lower Body Lift: Getting a lower body lift is one of the most expensive procedures out there. This is going to be in the $8,000 range.

Botox: This simple procedure for the face should be around $400.

Tummy Tuck: This procedure will cost at least $5,000.

Liposuction: There are many different types of liposuction, but the safest method is Smart liposuction which uses different ways to break up the fat cells in your body. You should plan on spending at least $3,200 for smart liposuction and at least $2,500 for a more traditional type of liposuction.

Conclusion:

These are probably the most common types of cosmetic surgery people are looking for, and as you can see, they can be quite expensive.  When you add in other costs that can arise, such as $1,000 for anesthetic, and hospital usage costs, you will be spending a lot of money no matter what type of procedure you are getting.
